Inner Tents

A double skin tent has a waterproof outer later which reaches the ground on all sides. Inside this outer layer, there are one or more awning inner tents which provide sleeping areas and even living areas, depending on the size of the tent. The outer tent can be slightly larger than the internal section itself, or it can be a lot larger and provide the potential for numerous separate bedrooms and living areas.

The inner tent may not always be waterproof, but the clever double-layered nature of the design provides optimum dryness, extra insulation and warmth. The internal section is often made of mesh-like material which is breathable and prevents water entering the inside. This is protected by the main flysheet, but still enables water vapour to leave the tent, avoiding dampness.

There is usually a secure, sewn-in groundsheet which extends up the sides of the tent to protect the insides from ground water, creating maximum comfort while camping.

The products can be made from breathable polyester and can be patterned or coloured with eye-catching designs, making for stylish and comfortable camping trips. They often have inner pockets for extra storage and tidiness, which is ideal for the often chaotic nature of camping. It is even possible to buy them especially for kids, with jungle-themed designs catering for camping-play and giving kids their own playroom. Inner tents are versatile, enabling campers to choose in which side of the tent to place each section, or even offering a variety of different living set-ups to choose from.
