Camping is almost an all year round activity. You might argue that the north of Scotland in the middle of winter is not anyone's idea of a holiday but then, with the range of outdoor speciality products available, it may also be the ideal place to get away from the overcrowded "normal" times and places. As people get more and more adventurous and as camping accessories become more advanced one product that is getting more popular is camping heaters for tents. The main decision is whether you prefer a gas or an electric camping heater. Assuming of course that you already know what kind of camper you are; caravan, large tent or individual. Respected brands offer a variety of types including cabinet heaters, gas stove heaters, suspended hanging heaters or small portable fan heaters. If you go down the gas camping heater route then, depending on the size of the gas appliance you buy, you will need to also remember the small butane gas canisters. If electrical is your preferred method and you are not in a caravan then look out for one with a car transformer. Many of these appliances are built with safety in mind and will have an anti-tilt safety system and oxygen depletion warning system. However, always be aware that heaters can cause damage and it is not safe to fall asleep with them on. If you are using your car for power then remember that any appliance attached will run the battery down. However, with these products then the open road is your invitation and the seasons offer no excuse.
